長浜曳山祭りの奉納狂言の前日となる4月14日、長濱八幡宮に据え付けられた曳山から、歌舞伎役者の子供たちが曳山を降りて自町に帰る道を練り歩くのがこの夕渡です。
特に雨の場合は、夕渡りのコースは大手門通りのアーケード内のみとなり、商店街が祭り一色に染められます。

On April 14th, the day before the Kyogen performance at the Nagahama Hikiyama Festival, children of Kabuki actors descend from the Hikiyama floats installed at Nagahama Hachimangu Shrine and parade back to their towns.
Especially if it rains, the evening course will be limited to the Otemon-dori arcade, and the shopping district will be dyed in the colors of the festival.
