長浜曳山祭りの曳山が行き交う通りが、この大手門通りです。
祭りの当日以外にも、曳山博物館の展示入れ替えとなる10月に行われる「曳山交替式」でも多くの曳山がこの通りを行き交います。
曳山祭りの当日（4/15）には、大手門通りの辻々で子ども歌舞伎が演じられ、4月14日には子ども歌舞伎の役者が曳山から降りて練り歩く「夕渡り」が行われるのもこの大手門通りです。

On the day of the Hikiyama Festival (April 15), children’s kabuki is performed at the corners of Otemon-dori, and on April 14th, the “Yuwatari” (Yuwatari) is held, in which the children’s kabuki actors get off the floats.
