長浜別院大通寺で勤められる夏中法要（げちゅうほうよう）に合わせて開催される縁日で、地元の人からは「夏中さん（げちゅうさん）」と呼ばれ親しまれています。
露天・屋台が所狭しと並ぶ大手門通りは、まさしく「The 夏の縁日！」といった風情になります。

It is a fair held in conjunction with the Natsuchu memorial service held at Nagahama Betsuin Daitsuji Temple, and is affectionately called “Natsuchu-san” by the locals.
Otemon Street, which is crammed with stalls and food stalls, has the atmosphere of “The Summer Fair!”
